Programme (interspersed with beer breaks!):-

Judith Jepson : Couch to Champion in 5 years!

A light hearted account of how a self neglecting, busy working mum of three's midlife crisis got out of hand! Local, and former HVC pupil Judith Jepson tells of her journey and the strange turn of events that lead her to become a fell runner. A very ordinary life with absolutely no sporting interest that changed in her 40s culminating in multiple British and English fell running titles. An inspiration to all of us whether active runner – or not! 40 mins.

Spyke (Stephen Pyke) : Around the Highlands in Forty Days.

Fellrunner Stephen Pyke (aka Spyke) will talk about his record-breaking run over all 282 of Scotland's 3,000 foot peaks (better known as the Munros), in just under 40 days in 2010. This remarkable feat of endurance over the most beautiful and rugged territory in the UK is presented in characteristically modest style and remains an outstanding record to this day. 45 mins.

Nicky Spinks : Record holder for the three big UK mountain running rounds.

(Talk and 2 short films)

After growing up in Buckingham and Glossop Nicky Spinks now farms in Mirfield (near Penistone) and started running in 2001. She quickly progressed to complete the Bob Graham round in 2005 and the Paddy Buckley the year after, but was immediately forced to take a year away from running to recover from breast cancer. Following success in European and UK endurance races Nicky then set the current records for the Bob Graham (2012), Paddy Buckley (2013) and Ramsay Round (2014). Nicky’s talk will cover her early beginnings and first Bob Graham attempt, then dealing with breast cancer and progressing to her record breaking completions of the ‘big three’ UK mountain running rounds. 1 hour.
